Inspiration
Most exchange rate applications provide features such as a built-in calculator, recent exchange rates in various currencies, separating currency by thousands with commas, and an exchange rate dashboard in the premium version. This application seeks to provide users with these features at no cost in one application.
What it does
eXchanger is a web application built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to facilitate exchange rate conversion by providing all of the necessary tools in one site. eXchanger provides users with the ability to convert x amount of money between currencies, provides a calculator for any additional calculations, and a dashboard allowing users to display important exchange rates.
How we built it
Built web application using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
Ran into some challenges with using the Fixer API as the URL was blocked on some browsers and with creating the scroll-box on the dashboard page as the entire list of currencies would not display.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Figuring out how to use the Fixer API and creating the dashboard.
What we learned
Learned how to use APIs and JavaScript.
What's next for eXchanger
Adding currency auto-detection based on location, offline mode, and alerts.
