Inspiration

Speaking and reading are the most fundamental things for the development of any individual's personality. Therefore, it is essential to inculcate them in children at the right age. We saw this part as the most critical and found us capable of presenting a solution to it through our app development skills. Hence we decided to take this challenge to show our ideas through the current skillset and polish the skills more.

What it does

This app improves students' and working professionals' reading and speaking skills. It has various learning modules to improve both skills. After a user has completed a particular module, they can evaluate the progress based on multiple parameters like speed(for reading, speaking), grammar, vocabulary, gesture detection etc. The speaking test also contains a one-to-one mentor +AI enabled assessment technique which helps in giving more precise results. The assessments' results are shown in the Statistics tab, which can be accessed from the bottom navigation bar.

How we built it

Firstly the wireframes and prototype were built by the design section of our team. We used professional open-source software, namely Figma, to create wireframes and prototypes. We also used many plugins and vector art to accord elegance to the icons used in the app.

Challenges we ran into

Our team ran into many challenges for the successful completion of this project. The main challenge was to learn Figma(designing software). The design team faced numerous challenges while learning Figma and creating wireframes through it. The challenges mainly included:

Creating a user-friendly UI.
Picking up the right colour combination.
Providing all the features at one tap of users without much hassle.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we made a user-friendly UI's from scratch and made successful completion on time.

What we learned

We learnt many new things in this Appathon. We learnt how UI's and wireframes are made. We also learnt to interact with other teams present here in the offline hackathon. Moreover, we leant how to be calm and Make a strong comeback when certain things go out of the way.

What's next for ExcelSoft C1-MAD

Later for the development Flutter and dart would be used for cross-platform development. Various libraries and APIs are used to integrate the desired features into the app and making it fully working app.
