What it does

ExcelInterview.AI is an AI-powered interview platform that offers users a realistic live interview experience. By selecting a role, experience level, tech stack, and resume, users engage in mock interviews with AI-generated questions tailored to their profile. The platform also simulates real-time speech-to-text transcription of responses and provides detailed graphical analysis, ratings, and improvement suggestions. In addition, users can book interviews with industry experts for personalized guidance. The platform’s features are designed to cater to various user profiles, including students, job seekers, and career switchers.

How we built it

We built ExcelInterview.AI using advanced technologies like Gemini AI for question generation and feedback, AssemblyAI for real-time audio processing, and Clerk for secure user authentication. The tech stack includes Tailwind CSS, React, Next.js, and Prisma for seamless front-end and back-end integration. We leveraged MongoDB for database management and Cloudinary for image and file storage. PDF parsing libraries were integrated to analyze resumes and extract key data, allowing the platform to tailor questions to users' experience and skill set.

Challenges we ran into

One of the significant challenges we faced was developing an AI system capable of generating high-quality, role-specific questions that remain dynamic based on users’ performance. Ensuring the real-time speech-to-text transcription worked seamlessly across different devices also posed technical challenges. Additionally, refining the user interface to be intuitive while managing complex backend processes was a hurdle. Balancing AI-generated content with human-level feedback required constant testing and adjustments.

We successfully built an AI-powered platform that combines the latest advancements in machine learning and natural language processing to create a comprehensive interview simulation.
