Inspiration

In Sri Lanka and many parts of the world, education remains unequal and inaccessible, especially for girls and students from low-income or rural communities. Private tuition dominates the system, often favoring those who can afford extra help. We were inspired to create ExamHUB to democratize access to education—so that every child, regardless of gender or economic background, can learn, grow, and succeed.

What It Does

ExamHUB is a gamified AI-powered education platform that helps students from Grades 6–13 prepare for exams through: 🧠 AI-based exam paper grading (reduces teacher workload and bias) 🎮 Gamified learning (quizzes, battles, leaderboards) 🌐 Bilingual access (Sinhala + English) 📱 Mobile-first and low-cost (LKR 5/day = ~$0.015) 👩‍🎓 Special scholarship access for underprivileged girls via partner NGOs

It directly supports SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by providing equitable learning tools regardless of gender, location, or income.

How We Built It

Frontend: Flutter for mobile app, React for web portal Backend: Node.js + Firebase + Google Cloud Functions AI Integration: Claude and OpenAI APIs for smart grading and feedback OCR Processing: Handwriting OCR for digitizing handwritten answer sheets UI/UX: Prototyped using Lovable.dev and improved via feedback from students and teachers Pilot Testing: Conducted with over 2,000 students and 50+ teachers
