Inspiration

As engineering students ourselves, we constantly struggled with scattered prep material—PYQs on one site, notes somewhere else, books in random drives, and doubts left unanswered. Inspired by how BYJU’S uses adaptive learning and how Doubtnut tackles doubts with AI, our team set out to solve one simple problem: Why isn’t there a single, unified place for exam prep? That question sparked the creation of ExamEdge.

What it does

ExamEdge is an all-in-one exam-prep platform for BITSAT, JEE, and NEET aspirants. It brings together:

  • A complete library of PYQs, books, and short notes
  • An AI-powered doubt solver (text + image)
  • AI-generated custom mock tests with performance analytics Our goal: Make exam prep faster, simpler, and smarter.

How we built it

We built our MVP using:

  • React for a clean, responsive UI
  • Node.js/Express for the backend
  • PostgreSQL to store and manage PYQs and notes
  • Free AI APIs for doubt solving and test generation Our workflow included rapid prototyping in Figma, agile sprints during the hackathon, and continuous testing to keep the experience smooth across devices.

Challenges we ran into

Building AI features under hackathon pressure was our biggest challenge. We dealt with:

  • Inconsistent responses from AI APIs
  • React state bugs breaking test generation
  • Latency in fetching large PYQ datasets Through iterative debugging and optimized async handling, we stabilized the system in time for our final build.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • A fully functional AI doubt solver that works with both text and images
  • Customized mock tests with real-time analytics inspired by JEE/NEET formats
  • A genuinely useful product that boosts exam prep efficiency within a single platform

What we learned

As a team, we learned how to:

  • Integrate AI quickly and effectively in a high-pressure environment
  • Debug and optimize React state flows during rapid prototyping
  • Focus on MVP essentials to ship fast without losing quality
  • Work collaboratively with clear roles, fast decision-making, and iterative testing

What's next for ExamEdge

Our roadmap includes:

  • A mobile app with offline PYQ access
  • A voice-based AI doubt solver
  • Collaborative study rooms + leaderboards
  • ML-based predictive rank analytics
  • Integration with official exam APIs for live updates
  • Premium tiers for advanced test series and AI features With ExamEdge, we want to redefine how students prepare — from overwhelmed to empowered.
