Inspiration

As a student who struggled to organize my GMAT prep, I saw a gap: many of us juggle busy lives and need a streamlined way to track progress, target weak spots, and access support—without scattered resources. I wanted to build a platform that felt intuitive, premium, and tailored to the way we prep for high-stakes exams.

What it does

Exam Prep Master is a one-stop hub for SAT/GRE/GMAT prep: generate personalized study plans, take timed mock exams, analyze score trends via interactive charts, and access video tutorials, community Q&A, or 1:1 tutoring—all in a sleek, easy-to-navigate interface.

How we built it

I used HTML/CSS (Tailwind CSS for rapid styling) and JavaScript for interactivity, leaning into Chart.js for data visualization. I focused on GPU-accelerated animations (opacity/transform) for smooth transitions, and designed a responsive layout that works on desktops and mobile devices. The UI prioritized clear data hierarchy and premium visual cues (gradients, glassmorphism) to keep users motivated.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest hurdle was balancing visual polish with performance—animations (like progress bars, chart renders) needed to be smooth on low-performance devices. I also had to ensure the responsive sidebar adapted seamlessly to mobile, reworking the layout to collapse into a top nav without breaking usability.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a cohesive, visually striking UI that feels premium yet approachable—users immediately grasp their progress at a glance. The animated data visualizations (score line charts, skill radar) turn raw numbers into actionable insights, and the hover/interaction effects make the platform feel dynamic without being overwhelming.

What we learned

I deepened my understanding of GPU-optimized CSS animations and responsive design principles, and learned how to translate complex prep data into intuitive, user-friendly visuals. Most importantly, I realized how critical it is to center the user’s daily workflow—small touches (like task status indicators, exam countdowns) make the platform feel personal.

What's next for this project

We plan to add adaptive study plan generation (tailored to performance data), integrate a question bank for targeted practice, and build out the 1:1 tutoring booking system. We also want to expand support for more exam types and add peer progress benchmarks to foster accountability.
