Inspiration
Inspiration for the project came from study groups in university sharing information that they believe would be useful to the rest of the group and I decided to create an iOS app that does that while ensuring reliable information.
What it does
The iOS app allows users to join a community studying for the final exam within a course. The user is then able to enter the course with $20 in starting virtual currency. The user can use the currency to use resources posted by other users or earn currency by creating posts or reviewing other posts. This allows the community to be active community for final exams, and also guarantee the community with content that will be useful in studying for final exams. The app also features a final exam calculator, a search bar to find relevant information, and the ability to use external links from the internet to use as resources for studying.
How I built it
I built that app using fundamental iOS development practices while using Swift and Xcode.
Challenges I ran into
One of the biggest challenges that I ran into is having the ability to post and show the posts on the app. I did a lot of research throughout the weekend to find the best approach to the challenge.
Accomplishments that I am proud of
I am proud of the fact that I was able to finish a demo ready app during the weekend while also gaining knowledge on new programming topics throughout the weekend.
What I learned
Throughout the weekend I learned a lot more about iOS app development while having the chance to think about new ways to create a better study experience while I study for my own final exams.
What's next for Exam Community
In future updates to the Exam Community I hope to be able to create a system that uses prior data from users uploads and voting to be able to further allow for more reliable information being shared to the community.
