EcoRide: Where Sustainability Meets Mobility
Inspiration
EcoRide draws its inspiration from the urgent need to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable transportation solutions. Washington sees annual wildfires which result in poor air quality, as well as constant traffic congestion due to inefficiencies in public transportation. Our commitment to a greener, cleaner planet drives us to explore innovative ways to revolutionize the way people commute and travel.
What it Does
EcoRide is a comprehensive mobility platform designed to make eco-friendly transportation accessible and enjoyable for all. Our app empowers users to discover, plan, and execute sustainable journeys, reducing carbon emissions and enhancing urban living. We have an account system similar to Uber’s that ensures that all drivers on our platform can provide a safe driving service to the rider’s destination. Users are able to select the make and model of the car they want to ride in through the app.
Key Features:
- Ride Finding: Our app finds the available drivers in the rider’s city and the rider will be able to share the ride with the driver.
- User Account System: Riders can create an account that will enable users to personalize their rides and provide authentication for the user’s profile.
How We Built It
The development of EcoRide was a collaborative effort that brought together a team of sustainability developers. We leveraged cutting-edge technologies, data analysis, and user-centered design principles to create a user-friendly, impactful platform.
Challenges We Ran Into
We encountered technical hurdles and data integration complexities, including trying to load our data into a vector database through Weaviate. In terms of our website, we had trouble implementing the account system into our user interface.
