Inspiration

Inspired by Wattpad stories where smart use of words brings characters and scenarios to life. The masterful use of words transcends beyond the experience in a visual-based game where we could usually engage in. Words that invoke imagination provide another level of enjoyment and relief in gaming.

What it does

Evolve Arcade takes in 3 parameters such as genre, age suitability, and game mechanics to build a text-based game for users to engage it. Users can chat with Evolve Arcade bot about what to do next with the character and observe what happens next. At the same time, the descriptive game scenario is paired with Gen AI-generated image to enhance the gaming experience.

How we built it

Amazon Party Rock was utilized. User input, text generation, image generation and chatbot widgets were utilized to develop the app.

Challenges we ran into

As the app is a low-code application, not many challenges were faced in creating the app. Slight challenges were faced regarding prompt generation. This required several iterations of fine-tuning and testing to obtain the desired outcome. One particular challenge was also faced when the output of the text contained over 24000 characters which caused the text and image widget part of my app unable to function. The primary solution was adjusting the prompt to provide a shorter text output.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Able to utilize simple features of Amazon Party Rock to create a game generator.

What we learned

Clearly specifying the instructions in the prompt is essential and crucial in enabling the outcome needed. As specific instructions as possible are recommended to enable the generation of desired outcomes.

What's next for EvolveArcade

Hopefully to include a video scenario for the game story and several levels of the game instead of one. This would need further integration with other applications where Amazon Party Rock features are lacking.
