Inspiration
Both me and my teammate aspire to be successful frontend developers using the latest and efficient tech available. But rewinding to when html was first concocted, about 30 years back, it was plain text on a really bad monitor and we thought sticking to the theme "Prehistoric", we'd build a website on the "Evolution of Web Design"
What it does
It showcases various websites like google, microsoft, etc on a timeline basis of how they used to look aka the prehistoric websites :)
How we built it
We used react.js coupled with Typescript and SCSS using GitHub to manage both mine and my teammates code efficiently. The commit history can be viewed HERE
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge we faced is how we would implement our UI. We had the idea, we had the skills, but where we crashed and burned multiple times was when we kept trying to design an UI due to which we lost a lot of time owing to college work and UI hesitation
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Even though we did face the mentioned challenges, we did bring out a decent project regardless if it is good or bad. We did it, and thats what matters.
What we learned
Teamwork, preparation beforehand and time management, and lastly, how to have fun through the grind.
What's next for Evolution of Web Design
Build a web museum of sorts where we'd show case more examples of how fortunate we are that web design has evolved to what it is now as compared to 30 years back.
Built With
