Inspiration

Evmos Market is an NFT marketplace launched on Evmos where you can freely buy, sell and create your own NFTs. This is the most decentralized and secure NFT marketplace in the world. We do not store absolutely any data on our own servers, everything is stored exclusively in the blockchain. We use Covalent, so you can interact with any of your NFTs on the Evmos network, regardless of how you got them

What it does

Evmos Market gives users the opportunity to interact with their NFTs. Our application is completely decentralized, we do not store absolutely any information on our servers

How we built it

There are only two people in our team. One of us is developing smart contracts, and the other is engaged in front-end development. To write smart contracts, we used solidity, and the site is written in js using rect. We also used tools such as web3modal, waffle, openzeppelin, hardhat, ipfs, covalent.

Challenges we ran into

This is our first similar application, so absolutely everything was a challenge for us. We are faced with two serious problems, because of which, in the end, the functionality is much less than it could be. The first of them is Covalent integration. The ability to use it was added only a few days ago, and we had never worked with it before, so it caused us some difficulties. The second, most important problem was that when we started creating Evmos Market, we incorrectly created the basic structure of the site, because of which everything worked unstable. Therefore, we decided to rewrite everything literally yesterday and, therefore, the functionality suffered greatly, but stability has grown

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As I wrote above, this is our first experience of creating a similar application, so we consider it an achievement first of all that we were able to create an mvp from scratch literally in 1 day.

What we learned

Since this is our first such experience, we have learned a lot. We have learned how to work with smart contracts. In general, writing a decentralized application is very different from a centralized one and it would be a very unusual but interesting experience. We have learned how to work with many of the new tools described above

What's next for Evmos Market

Evmos Market is not ready at all yet. We have already created a lot of functionality that is not available in this version. Perhaps during the hackathon, the functionality on the site will increase, you can sometimes look at it. We already have several authors with whom we cooperate and in the future we plan only to increase their number. If we add everything that was ready in the last version to the current version, then Evmos Market will already be at the opensea level, and if we do everything we want, then it will be cooler at all. No later than the launch of the Evmos mainnet, we plan to lay out a full-fledged version with all the functionality that will be able to give the Evmos network another advantage over its analogues - an excellent NFT market. After that, we plan to launch a similar marketplace on the Moonbeam network, and then combine them by creating a multi-chain marketplace and giving users the opportunity to interact with their NFTs literally as they like, in almost any chain.
