Evil-Pomodoro
This is a desktop application for HackRPI 2014. The idea is to lock you out from some applications to stop you from slacking.
This program is made for windows platform using Java and has been tested on windows 8 64bit version.
The program asks the user for an integer number for the number of minutes they want to work and the number of minutes they want to take a break afterwards. The program continuously kills applications listed in a text file blacklist.txt during the work session to FORCE THE USER TO AVOID SLACKING.
The applications in the text file are listed by the name they appear as in the list generated by tasklist in the cmd.
The background color of the application changes accordingly. Orange is for work, green is for break and red is for danger. During the danger period an audio file is played to alert the user to the necessity of saving progress, if any, before the program closes the blacklisted applications.
This project is a combination of Pomodoro and Website Blocking (only it actually blocks applications instead of websites).
