Hello. My name is Evil Larry. Before reading further, I suggest getting to Know Your Meme.

At home I answer to Dexter, and my human, Tina Gonzalez of @Hobbikats, shares me with the internet. The internet decided I was a villain, and now I have over 3 billion impressions, so you know what that means... time to exploit myself into a mobile game!

Evil Larry Escape is a mobile runner where you finally get to fight back. Outrun me, then send me flying with one well-timed bat swing. It's free on Google Play.

We've got 2M+ views across game-promo posts on TikTok and YouTube, including an announcement with 929K views and 23K shares.

Gameplay

You play an orange cat (we'll call him Rico with the blessing of RevenueCat's legal team). Rico runs through my neighborhood while I make his life difficult.

  • Change lanes, jump, and slide past obstacles
  • Collect coins while street obstacles and I try to get in your way
  • Step through a portal and meet your maker (me)

That meeting is our players' favorite moment in the game. It breaks the pace. The camera pushes in until my face fills the screen, so you get the iconic stare. A marker sweeps across a timing meter. Tap while it's in the green and you land a bat swing that sends me flying, in a launch far more dramatic than necessary.

Why you keep running

Daily Escape gives you a new run to beat every day, with leaderboards and retention notifications reminding you to crush today's top score. Coins buy upgrades, so every run helps the next one. There's always a side-quest and a villain you'd like to hit one more time.

Built around one face

My real face is narrow and black, with enormous sideways ears. That face is the joke, so the art direction keeps me readable at phone size and saves the big close-up for the moment it counts.

The encounter is a single design beat in four parts:

  1. A change of pace
  2. A change of scale
  3. One readable timing cue
  4. A launch you can see from across the room

How it makes money

The game is free, with rationed pop-up ads and one purchase to Remove Pop-Up Ads Forever. Optional rewarded ads stay, of course. RevenueCat manages the purchase and the entitlement, and the ads run on Google AdMob with RevenueCat ad tracking.
