Inspiration

EverydayApp began from a simple personal frustration, which was the inability to stay consistent with good habits. I used to wake up and immediately lose an hour scrolling on my phone. I tried every productivity and habit app out there, but none of them made me follow through. They sent reminders, but there were no real consequences for failure. That’s when I realized people don’t need more motivation, but rather they need accountability.

EverydayApp was born from that insight: what if discipline had real stakes and sticking to your habits could actually make you money?

What it does

EverydayApp is an on-chain habit protocol built on Starknet.

Users stake money on completing daily habits like waking up on time, staying focused, meditating, walking, or going to the gym. If they complete the habit successfully, they earn their stake back plus a share of the rewards from those who didn’t. If they fail, they lose their stake automatically through smart contracts. It transforms everyday routines into verifiable, financial commitments by replacing self-tracking with self-enforcing habits.

How we built it

  • Developed and deployed smart contracts on Starknet (Cairo) for staking pools and habit resolution logic.
  • Integrated embedded wallets and gas abstraction to simplify onboarding for non-crypto users.
  • Designed an MVP Android app with native habit verification (Alarm and Focus Mode).
  • Currently expanding to fitness habits by integrating Google Fit/Apple Health APIs for walking and BeReal-style camera verification for gym check-ins.
  • Designed the new production-ready UI for multi-habit flows and cross-platform expansion (Android + iOS).
  • During the Starknet Resolve Hackathon, we fully implemented the phone lock feature.

Challenges we ran into

  • Designing fair and tamper-proof habit verification mechanisms for real-world actions (especially across time zones and device types).
  • Ensuring a smooth UX despite blockchain constraints - wallets, gas, and tx confirmations.
  • Creating anti-abuse systems to prevent fake completions, Sybil attacks, or bot farming.
  • Balancing stake sizes and reward logic to keep the system fair, sustainable, and motivating.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Built a working MVP and grew to 1,900+ organic waitlist signups with zero paid marketing.
  • Designed and tested the first stake-to-wake alarm prototype, moving from concept to product in under 8 weeks.
  • Created a clear product roadmap and launched development of fitness-based verification, bridging, and cross-platform rollout.
  • Established a 100-user closed beta group including Starknet ecosystem members, VC analysts, and early adopters.

What we learned

  • Skin in the game works: people are far more consistent when real money is at stake.
  • Simplicity is everything: the closer the app feels to a normal mobile experience, the faster non-crypto users adopt it.
  • Verification needs trust: success depends on fair, transparent, and flexible validation mechanisms for each habit type.
  • Social and financial incentives work best together: users are most active when discipline feels competitive and shareable.

What's next for Everyday App

Over the next four months, we will:

  1. Launch a multi-token bridging system to onboard users from multiple chains into Starknet.
  2. Expand habit categories to include fitness routines like walking and gym attendance with real-world validation.
  3. Deploy the new app design across Android and iOS, integrating all five habit types (Alarm, Focus, Meditation, Walking, Gym).
  4. Run a public beta with creator-hosted habit pools, referral systems, and on-chain analytics dashboards to track usage and engagement.
  5. Work closely with Starknet Foundation and ecosystem partners to position EverydayApp as the consumer entry point for Starknet
