Inspiration

We were inspired to make Everskill by the creator of Duolingo. For more details, you can watch the linked video

What it does

Everskill provides a free platform for everyone to learn anything! Ranging from coding to building paper plane, Everskill has it all! Everskill provides its users with rewards like gems and coins, at a certain level, they can make their own courses!

How we built it

We built Everskill using Flask, and Firebase. The UI is built in plain HTML/CSS/JS. It was also built with patience, perseverance, ingenuity and dedication.

Challenges we ran into

Backend - The push notifications took some time to figure out, the overall backend has about 1k lines, each of which was changed at least 2 to 10 times. Quite lengthy for one person! Frontend - First time working with Figma, had to figure out how to make responsive designs, export to HTML, and integrate with the backend Site Content - We were so focused on building the main app that we did not have enough time to create adequate site content. However, we did create three courses in time which show all features of our app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating a learning platform. We worked on a team for the first time. This had its own pros and cons - but we "fixed" the cons, and exploited the pros!

What's next for Everskill

I worked on front-end. I created the first ever course on Everskill and the second. I created the sign-in page, the landing page, and the profile edit page. I also made the very small css lib for the courses. I had a lot of fun working on this project.
