Inspiration

We've all experienced the frustration of trying to schedule time with friends. Life gets busy, calendars clash, and spontaneous get-togethers become distant memories. We saw that existing calendar tools don't really solve this problem – they show what people are doing, but not necessarily when they're truly available. We wanted to create a solution that bridges this gap and makes it easier to nurture friendships, even when schedules are packed. The inspiration came from personal experience and a desire to help others maintain those vital social connections.

What it does

EverMeet simplifies the process of finding time to connect with friends. It features a mock calendar interface where users can easily toggle their availability ("Free" or "Busy") for different time slots. Users can also input their friend's general availability (e.g., "Evenings," "Weekends"). EverMeet then "magically" finds overlapping free slots and suggests potential meeting times. Our key differentiator is the "on/off" switch for availability, which allows users to reflect their actual free time, even if their calendar is packed with commitments. This helps to avoid the problem of calendars not truly reflecting real-life availability.

How we built it

We used Adalo to build EverMeet IOS application. We focused on creating a clean and intuitive user interface for the mock calendar and availability toggles. We prioritized speed and simplicity, given the hackathon's time constraints.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was time constraints. We had to make tough decisions about what features to include and what to cut to fit the timeframe.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of our clean and concise application design and function. We're also excited about the potential of EverMeet to help people reconnect with their friends.

What we learned

This hackathon was a great learning experience. We learned how to use Adalo to build functional application prototypes. We also learned the importance of teamwork, communication, and time management in a fast-paced development environment.

What's next for EverMeet

We plan to integrate with real calendar APIs, add friend invitation features, expand the activity suggestions, explore AI-powered matching. We believe EverMeet has the potential to become a valuable tool for anyone who wants to make the most of their time and nurture their friendships.
