Inspiration
- Seeing the frustration of organizers with low event turnout.
- Recognizing the potential of blockchain technology to incentivize participation.
What it does
EventHub is a platform that uses a unique incentive model to guarantee high attendance for events. Attendees pay a small fee to RSVP, and same amount of the event fee is charged as the platform fee.
At the end of an event, random participant is selected from pool of those that were absent and rewarded. This creates a win-win situation for both organizers and a lucky attendee.
How we built it
For easy adoption, we ensured less hassle for our pontential users by using a Magic service for seamless user onboarding.
During development, we used Hardhat framework for the solidity and smart contract deployment>
Challenges we ran into
It was an issue initially on how to get the flow right as regards seamless user onboarding. Thankfully, that was sorted using Magic service. Also, the Chainlink Automation using upkeep to write our custom function was somewhat challenging to grasp at the beginning despite several resources consulted.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Created a more engaged and incentivized community of attendees and getting familiar with Chainlink services.
What we learned
Having to finally to start working with Chainlink services is a huge deal for us!
What's next for EventHub
To develop beyond MVP and developing new features to further enhance the experience for organizers and attendees. Also to get event organizers and event ecosystem at large to be aware of the application by engaging the stakeholders seriously.
