About the Project

Inspiration

Planning events is stressful—especially when you don’t know where to start. I wanted to reimagine the classic moment of someone panicking over their birthday plans and turn it into something magical. That idea became EventGenie, an AI-powered event planner that acts like your personal genie. Instead of stress, you make a wish—and everything begins to fall into place.

What It Does

EventGenie uses AI to transform simple user inputs into full event concepts. It generates:

• Venue recommendations
  
• Themes and color palettes
  
• Decoration ideas
  
• Layout inspirations
  
• Activity suggestions
  
• A final event summary
  

The goal is to make planning feel as easy as rubbing a genie lamp.

How We Built It

EventGenie was developed using:

• JavaScript and a modern frontend stack for UI visualization
  
• Google Maps API placeholders for future venue integration
  
• AI prompting (Veo + Gemini) to generate visuals, ideas, and theme presets (Coming Soon)
• Cursor + Figma for rapid UI prototyping and layout exploration
  

The focus was on building a functional UI skeleton that feels real even before pulling in external data.

Challenges We Faced

• Condensing a full transformation scene into a 9-second Veo video limit
  
• Creating a magical, genie-themed brand without making it look cheesy
  
• Designing a full UI before connecting real API data
  
• Getting AI outputs to stay stylistically consistent
  
• Ensuring transitions (like room transformations) were readable and smooth
