Inspiration
Loneliness and mental health issues are a serious problem among university students, and we would be very happy if we could help in one way or another.
What it does
It lets students review social events in Leuven, after which they are matched to people who are interested in the same events, so they can go together and make new friends.
How I built it
we built this part using pure php and bootstrap to fix the layout. We interact with an sql database to store our data.
Challenges I ran into
Building a whole log system in pure php takes a lot of time and is very inefficient. we did it because it was our only knowledge of web-development.
Accomplishments that I’m proud of
its a neat looking site and interacts with the database as it should.
What I learned
working under pressure, but most of all working in a team. dividing tasks, quickly helping each other out and building the project, step by step, from the ground up
What’s next for EventFriend - Event Submitter
Let’s hope we can make it into a reality :wink:. We really believe that it could have a lot of success and help a lot of people.
