Inspiration
With the growing demand for remote collaboration and global connectivity, we saw a significant gap in professional, customizable, and immersive virtual event platforms tailored for businesses. Most existing solutions were either too rigid, lacked branding freedom, or didn’t offer the level of interactivity we envisioned. This led us to create Eventara, a platform built to elevate virtual business experiences.
What it does
Eventara is a next-generation virtual event hosting platform that enables businesses to seamlessly host webinars, conferences, product launches, and more — all in a sleek, branded environment. It features real-time video streaming, interactive booths, attendee networking lounges, schedule management, analytics dashboards, and fully customizable branding with glassmorphism-inspired UI elements for a modern, polished look.
How we built it
We started by sketching the core layout and designing UI elements using Figma with a focus on modern design principles and glassmorphism effects. The frontend is developed using React with Tailwind CSS, and WebSocket-powered components ensure real-time interaction. We implemented the backend using Node.js and Express, with MongoDB for storing user and event data. Media streaming was integrated via WebRTC and a cloud-based video infrastructure for scalability.
Challenges we ran into
Designing a platform that looks visually elegant while remaining highly functional and responsive across devices was a major challenge. Integrating real-time features like live Q&A and breakout sessions without compromising performance also required deep optimization. Ensuring data privacy and secure access control for enterprise users added further complexity.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud of creating a visually stunning, interactive platform that balances aesthetics with functionality. Our modular system for booths and sessions allows users to configure their own event flow without needing technical skills. Achieving smooth, low-latency streaming and real-time interactions was another big win.
What we learned
We deepened our understanding of scalable architecture for real-time applications, learned best practices for implementing interactive design with glassmorphism, and refined our ability to develop user-centric features based on iterative feedback. We also became more adept at balancing branding freedom with UX consistency.
What's next for Eventara
We plan to roll out features like AI-based networking matchmaking, multilingual support, event gamification, and integrations with CRM tools like HubSpot and Salesforce. We're also exploring NFT-based ticketing for exclusive business events and enhancing mobile responsiveness for on-the-go access.
