Event Manager

Inspiration

My friend, Seeyew Mo who has organized hundreds of events for Hillary has a hard time managing attendees and is required to use many different tools and several manual processes to do so. This app is an attempt to solve his and other hosts' problems.

What it does

Fully integrates with the Groundwork APIs and Facebook to enable volunteers to create events, invite guests, share their event on Facebook and Twitter, manage guests on the day off (mark attendance, create entries for walk-ins)

How I built it

Built on the iOS SDK using the groundwork APIs. Started at 11 am and finished at 5pm.

Challenges I ran into

Groundwork documentation was sparse/out of date.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Created a simple, mobile interface to Groundwork that will make managing Hillary events a log more delightful.

What I learned

Talking to volunteers and employees of the Hillary campaign has given me some great insights into their problems.

What's next for Event Manager

Launch on the app store and promote it to Hillary supporters.
