EventHub is an easy-to-use platform for nonprofits and students with secure dashboards, signups, and hour tracking. It runs on Windows, Mac, and mobile, making community service simple and accessible.

Inspiration

Born in the chaos of COVID, GenInspired struggled with makeshift spreadsheets to manage food drives and volunteer events. When systems failed, we realized nonprofits everywhere faced the same problem: incredible missions held back by inadequate technology. We turned this pain into purpose.

What it does

Our event management system empowers nonprofits with seamless sign ups, custom forms, volunteer dashboards, mobile access, payment tracking, automated communications, and volunteer hour logging for grant reports. It removes tech barriers so organizations can focus on impact.

How we built it

We used Amazon’s Kiro IDE, React with TypeScript, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and AWS CDK. Instead of starting with code, we defined mission-driven stories, steering files, and agentic hook. Kiro became our AI development partner, guiding us from specs to production-ready code in days, not months.

Challenges we ran into

  • Volunteer data scattered across emails, texts, and paper forms.
  • Missed grant opportunities due to lack of proper volunteer hour reports.
  • Complexity of ensuring accessibility, privacy compliance, and scalability on a nonprofit budget.
  • Aligning AI-generated output with community-first values.

What's next for Event Management System

We are building mobile apps for volunteer check-ins, APIs for nonprofit tool integration, advanced analytics, multi-language support, and offline-first capabilities. More importantly, we’re growing a community of nonprofits co-developing the platform so it continuously evolves to serve local communities worldwide.
