Project Name: Bantu Pulse – The AI-Powered Voice-Driven Event Assistant Short Description (Elevator Pitch): Bantu Pulse is revolutionizing cultural discovery in Cameroon by combining the power of Google Gemini and Eleven Labs. More than just a ticketing platform, it's an intelligent voice companion that allows users to find, create, and share life experiences by speaking naturally, while ensuring enterprise-grade reliability thanks to Datadog monitoring.
The Problem: In Cameroon, the cultural scene is abundant but fragmented. Barriers to entry are technological (complex interfaces), and engagement is often passive. Event organizers struggle to engage their audience in real time.
The Solution: We built a "Voice-First" platform: Natural Interaction (Eleven Labs + Gemini): The user simply asks: "What are we doing in Douala tonight to eat with live music?" AI analyzes data streams, reasons using Gemini 2.5 Flash, and responds with a warm, human-like voice via ElevenLabs. Visual Engagement (Event Camera): An AR filter and story system to capture the moment. Inclusion: Voice control makes the application accessible to everyone, regardless of their comfort level with touch interfaces. Technology Integration: Google Cloud & Gemini: We use gemini-3-flash-preview for contextual reasoning and generating marketing descriptions for event organizers. The application is hosted on a scalable infrastructure. ElevenLabs (The Challenge): Integration of the ElevenLabs API to transform the assistant's text responses into a seamless conversational experience. We use voices optimized for the friendly and inviting tone required by the events industry. Datadog (Observability): We have implemented an end-to-end monitoring strategy. We monitor Gemini response latency, ElevenLabs speech synthesis success rates, and cloud resource usage. Alerts are configured to detect any anomalies in data streams.
Impact: Bantu Pulse does more than simply list events; it bridges cutting-edge technology with local traditions, boosting Cameroon's cultural economy.
