SW-I28

Inspiration

As students curious to learn and discover, we often find ourselves tied as we are not able to access all the events, programs, and research happening around us in different universities and organizations around the country, and at times miss our important events. Hence, we decided to develop a portal- both a website and an app, which shows students important information about events and competitions organized.

What it does

EIP helps its user to find information about upcoming competitions, seminars, etc. It also connects like-minded people who would like to work together and collaborate on research projects with similar themes and topics.

How we built it

We used HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, and a few frameworks for the web development of the portal. For the App Development, we used Xcode and Swift for the front end and Realm for the back-end of the iOS app.

Challenges we ran into

Understanding the specific needs of students while searching for their desired events and using filters to help them find those, as well as collecting information from universities about events and storing them in databases, and extracting the vital information for students according to their needs.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

we accomplished in building user-friendly and responsive, applications and websites.

What we learned

how to work efficiently as a team. We understood the current needs of the student and faculty.

What's next for SW-I28

We incorporate a public 5-star rating system and public review for more genuine authenticity of event organizers, we will also add an in-app payment gateway so the user can purchase the ticket and register simultaneously. Dark-theme will be added eventually.
