Inspiration

I saw lot of best seller products in this topic in the form of Spreadsheet (Google Sheets, MS Excel), I think it’s going to get traction as well if I build as a web app. Moreover a web app offers more benefits like centralized access, fast and easy to navigate, and robust features for advanced development.

But the most important part of the story and my motivation is because I’m now upgrading my financial literacy and excited to share with others. And more than 11 years I don't do coding, I'm amazed how AI is a game changer in app development. With this app, people can simultaneously act, learn, and upgrade their knowledge at the same time.

What it does

LifeEvent Planner: Get personalized budgets, smart saving strategies, and guidance to make your dreams reality for your life’s big moments. This app is designed to solve the following problems: Unexpected expenses, lack of clear planning, and overspending.

How I built it

  1. Find popular of similar products on Etsy to breakdown all the features.
  2. Ask ChatGPT to help me create prompts and do research to figure out target audience and their pain points.
  3. Rewrite all the info I got from ChatGPT to be used for initial prompt on Bolt New.
  4. Do testing and figure out next steps development and improvements.
  5. When I have unclear insights or conclusion after testing, I asked Bolt New like:
  6. "What's next? Give me your best feedback for this app."
  7. "What are the next steps in developing this app? Let me know your suggestions."
  8. When I see core features are already implemented, this is my first milestone. The MVP is ready and I’m confident to let others know about this app.

Challenges I ran into

Not too much challenges in development, the most challenges happened on the pre-development like research and prompting preparation.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The result by Bolt is much better than I expected, UI/UX, analytics, and data insights are awesome.

What I learned

In most cases, prompting with generic content (not too detail) is resulting better app than expectation.
