Event Buddy

Inspiration

We noticed that attending events alone can be intimidating and often leads to missed opportunities for social connections. We wanted to build an app that turns solo outings into shared experiences, making it easier for people to find a buddy for any event.

What it does

Event Buddy helps users discover local events, matches them with people who have similar interests, and facilitates connections to attend events together. It features smart matching and personalized event recommendations.

How we built it

Used React for front-end and python for back-end. Real event APIs (like Eventbrite) for live event data.

Challenges we ran into

Synchronizing animations caused UI glitches.

Created a seamless matching experience with interactive animations.

What we learned

We learned how to optimize React state management for smoother transitions and enhanced our skills in UI/UX design. Additionally, we improved our teamwork and problem-solving abilities under tight deadlines.
