Inspiration

Recently i and my friends where planing on hosting a physical event around my area. Everything was set all plans has been accomplished buh the big issue we had was a medium to sell this tickets. The complexity of ticketing has made it so that many event planners,founders and entreprenuers find it difficult to create and sell tickets for events it hasnt been flexible that anyone can book and pay anytime they wish.

What it does

Event Better is an simple event ticketing platform for event organisers , promoters etc. It solves the Complexity of ticketing and ticket purchases. It is also flexible for individuals to pay later. Event planners can easily register on event better to create differrent types of events, describing the details about such events such as location,time etc. Attendees can now find interesting events they can attend,book tickets for such event and decide to pay later or share payment links to friends to help them pay. Event hosts can also User This plartform to scan tickets to verify attendees before entrance to event.

How we built it

Event better is a mobile Application built with flutter which is a ui framework produced by gooogle for developing cross-platform applications. Firebase was used as a database tool to help perform the basic database/backend related part off the application

Challenges we ran into

During the cost of development the one of the major problem faced was implementing the checkoutApi on mobile considering that it doesnt have a mobile SDK to ease the whole proccess. The chekout user inerface was potrayed using a basic webview where i listened to changes to identify a successfull payment. Another challange i faced was time this is because i started development of the project quite a bit closer to the submission date

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The Accomplishments i am proud of is the implementation of the checkout Api using a mobile application. having gone through the stress but it was worth it.

What we learned

Event better really helped me to learn more about firebase, and also working with streams in listeners and also better ways to use a webview with flutter.

What's next for Event better

The next plans for Event better is the implementation of subscribtions using the squares subscription Api so that user can unlock more features according to their subscriptions. And also the implementation of mutiple users managing an event.
