Inspiration
To make it easier for people to go out and socialize, in a fun and interactive way. Allowing them to explore a wide range of events in their area.
What it does
It creates cards with important information about events. The events are chosen depending on what the user specified previously (party size, location, date, etc). Then the user can either skip a card or add it to his "deck". Then when the user wants, they can download all the information about the events they liked.
How we built it
We built this project using a Svelt kit for the front end, and a socketed Python backend. We used deepseek to center a div(jk). We used it in order to help us set up our environment and it helped our less experienced teammates with API management and JSON O/I.
Challenges we ran into
-Time -The complexity of the project that we intended to do at first -Sleep -Waiting for food -Our inexperience (skill issue) -Our partner ditched us a week before :/
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the way the cards look, and the fact that we were actually able to make the website run (we are in the first year, and we have never touched this before). Calling and receiving information from the API.
What we learned
How to use/read JSON, and how to process api's. We also learned HTML/CSS, and how to set up/use Vercel.
What's next for Evender
We intend to add some features after the event. Possibly add an activities section, if the events proposed do not satisfy the user.
