Virtual Pitch Reviewer

Inspiration

I have more than 15 years in business, as an entrepreneur, business incubator manager and lately, as a professor of Innovation for Startups in Weber States University. I repeatedly observed a critical gap: founders lack access to meaningful, high-quality feedback when preparing their pitches. While peers can offer encouragement, they rarely provide the structured, investor-level insights needed to refine a startup narrative.

This problem is even more evident in early-stage and underserved communities, where access to mentors and investors is limited, such as Hispanic entrepreneurs. I started the APP in Spanish, inspired in program such Building Puentes and Wildcat Microfund (I won i 3 times with my own startup OgdenXR) but because it is all about 'democratization' I decided to offer it in English and Spanish.

What it does

Gives to the entrepreneur a non-bias, arbitrary and straight feedback and inights about a business idea. It is not Chat GPT interpretation, it is a trained agent that simulate an investor thinking at the moment to offer a clear and simple feedback.

Also, gives recommendations and resources to improve in several ways, the pitch.

How we built it

The platform combines several components: • Frontend: Designed for clarity and engagement, allowing users to interact easily • AI Voice + Text Interaction: Users can either paste their pitch or record it using voice, simulating real-world presentations • LLM Integration: We use structured prompts to generate investor-style feedback, including: • Problem clarity • Target customer definition • Monetization strategy • Scoring System: Each pitch is evaluated across key dimensions to provide a quick, interpretable result

Challenges we ran into

1. Limited time to do it
2. No idea about base44
3. Integration with Elevenlabs was tricky to offer Real-Time Voice Interaction
4. Avoiding Generic AI Responses. We tested it hundred of times.
5. I burned base44 token the first day
6. User Experience to make it: simple, fast and intuitive

Accomplishments that we're proud of

1. I did it on time
2. So far, around 30 entrepreneurs tested it and they like it. They gave me a lot of insights for more improvements.
3. It is working and it will make a difference

1. You need to do something that solve a real problem
2. Technical integrations are messy
3. It is so fun

What's next

1. Now Pitch Reviewer only evaluates
2. Tomorrow, it will be an advisor with a real conversation
