It's meant to make the process of applying to hackathons easier, and also lessen the work on the hackathon organizers, by providing the applicant with a premade travel plan, with the potential of having the travel reimbusrement deducted, making logistics easier for the organizers.
What it does
The vision is that once the applicant receives their acceptance e-mail, they'll also receive a pre-made travel plan, to which they might make modifications, should they wish, or simply click to purchase it. Assuming they also get the travel reimbursement, that could somehow be applied at the same stage.
How I built it
We have a Django backend that coupled with the user and event geodata should be able to plan a route from the applicant's location to their nearest airport, present flight information, and then also set up a route from the destination airport to the event venue.
Challenges I ran into
One important API key takes time to be approved, so we ended up having to fake data from many things
