Inspiration
The boom of AI and its extreme energy usage caught our attention regarding this objective. The concept of this hackathon is Save the World, which we believe our project aligns well with, which is trying to make busy consumer-heavy platforms energy-efficient.
What it does
We learned that famous Chatbot models use an enormous amount of energy to provide customers with answers to their questions.
How we built it
• Using React and Typescript to create a proof of concept • Utilized Figma to create graphics and design considerations • Created graphs using Excel and Tableau to convey data and visualize trends in context to our
Challenges we ran into:
• Finding real-time ways to measure energy and water usage per interaction. • Integrating eco-friendly options without hurting the user experience. The SWOT analysis of our product compared to other products in the market
Accomplishments that we're proud of
• Proving that AI can be powerful and planet-friendly. • Designing a system where you can finally say "thank you" and "please" to your AI because it's not wrecking the Earth anymore.
What we learned
• The shocking environmental footprint of modern AI models. • How smart system design can massively reduce carbon and water waste. • That small tweaks at the code level can lead to giant impacts globally.
