Inspiration
As EV adoption accelerates, we asked: How are cities truly preparing for the electric future? We were inspired by the need to make EV infrastructure planning smarter, more equitable, and data-driven—starting with Seattle.
What it does
The EV Connectivity Readiness app consist of two components:
1) The EV Connectivity Readiness App analyzes Seattle’s EV ecosystem—charging density, grid capacity, adoption trends, and policy effectiveness—at the neighborhood level. Users can explore gaps, equity issues, and get AI-powered recommendations.
2) In addition, the EV Adoption App empowers officials to increase EV uptake through rebates and incentives, helping identify qualified residents, likelihood-to-buy scores, and outreach opportunities—ensuring underserved communities benefit from EV adoption.
How we built it
We used TableauNext with semantic modeling and Agentforce AI to connect multiple data sources—charging station locations, energy grid metrics, registration data, rebate programs, and policy scores—into an interactive, insight-rich experience. Stack: TableauNext, Salesforce, Data Cloud, Databricks, Slack, ChatGPT 5.0
Challenges we ran into
Sourcing and aligning datasets across zip code and districts was a key challenge. We also had to define meaningful, city-specific readiness metrics that balanced technology, equity, incentives, and energy constraints.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created an easy to adopt and implement app that transforms complex data into actionable insights—and designed it to be usable by policymakers, utilities, and community advocates alike. The addition of the Adoption app means we can now link infrastructure planning with consumer incentives, creating a complete pathway for EV growth.
What we learned
City readiness is more than infrastructure—it’s about planning, equity, and real-time intelligence. Adding adoption incentives showed us how the right agentic analytics tools can accelerate both infrastructure build-out and consumer adoption.
What's next for EV Connectivity Readiness App
We aim to expand the model to other cities, enable real-time data feeds, integrate climate impact forecasts, and scale the Adoption app to include state and federal rebate programs—empowering cities to become greener, faster.
