Many communities notice cloudy water unusual algae pollution or changes near a river or pond before they can access a certified laboratory However measurements from low cost water test kits can be difficult to understand
We wanted to create a friendly tool that helps students and community groups turn simple water measurements into an understandable first warning This inspired us to build GreenWatch
GreenWatch is an educational water quality screening app that uses five measurements:
1 - pH 2 - Turbidity 3 - Nitrate 4 - Dissolved oxygen 5 - Temperature
Users enter their measurements and receive a Low Moderate or High screening result GreenWatch also explains exactly which measurements affected the score and suggests practical next steps
The goal is not to replace professional testing Instead GreenWatch helps users understand their observations and decide when further investigation or certified laboratory testing may be needed
