Inspiration
As the closure of schools due to the Coronavirus outbreak led teachers to teach full time online, personalized learning has revealed to be more and more practiced and efficient. Yet human contact and especially with other European nationalities has been affected. So both personalizing teaching and strengthening face to face contact have been inspirational.
What it does
To carry on personalized teaching and learning in any subject by giving access to an EU school platform to any pupils, students, teachers and parents.
To share school curricula and pedagogical practices for teachers both related to our academic fields and to our online teaching due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
To teach how to participate in European mobilities by organizing transnational school field trips for teaching face to face whilst respecting the Coronavirus sanitary rules.
How we intend to build it
Using a virtual learning environment enabling both asynchronous and synchronous courses.
As it is meant for primary and secondary pupils, the eTwinning platform is a possibility.
Yet as the idea is also to give the opportunity to any students and parents from Europe to enroll in courses and to directly register to this EU school platform, the creation of a new platform will be more appropriate.
Challenges I ran into
Finding web designers.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
With no professional technicians but only teachers in my team, we managed to produce and submit our project on time thanks to our hard work and personal IT skills.
What we learned
We have learnt or improved multitasking, as we needed to do loads of things in a very short time. So some participants also learnt to focus a lot more on specific targets and to interact with different people using new tools.
What's next for GOES
To find pedagogical, technical and business cooperators.
Since we are waiting for the new Erasmus+ programme to be unveiled, we have even envisaged our project's possible implementation through this programme.
