Inspiration

Buyers don't always know what they're getting. Suppliers don't always know what they're selling. They need to hold one another accountable. As corporate social responsibility increases, more companies will want to improve/will be socially pressured into improving their supply chains and purchase data. This app can help them do this.

What it does

A business platform for buyers and sellers to meet and discuss the product and its origins. After the exchange, supplier is ranked by buyer on various factors: manufacturing data (where is the product made, how, by whom, under what conditions); material origins (from where are the materials sourced and how are they collected); transparency (how much information is the supplier willing to share); and knowledge of their own supply chain (ignorance is not an excuse. Supplier must learn to be accountable for its product and its lifecycle). Buyers can also "shop" around for a supplier with good ratings, which creates competition between sellers who then want to improve their rankings by rectifying problem points in their supply chain.
