Inspiration
We were inspired from the movie where time is money. We really liked this idea but we didn't want to copy the idea exactly so we created our own spin on it.
What it does
We have created a simulation of a banking application/financial tool. It simulates a balance that you would have in this fictional world that is affected by your ethic score. This score relates to your purchase history and job. Meaning if you make ethical purchases e.g. donating to charity you would increase your ethic score which would then increase the value of your balance. The same effect is in place for unethical purchase's decreasing your ethical score. Your job that you choose also effects this score when you get your paycheck.
How we built it
We built it using html and css for the frontend with javascript for the backend. We have used fire base for a database to store users details.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge we had was trying to implement bank transfers between multiple accounts.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of what we have managed to create within the time frame as it is all of our first hackathon.
What we learned
We have learned how to use javascript along with fire base to create a secure and easily managable backend that has accounts for each user. With emaills that need to be verified.
What's next for Ethic Bank
With more time we would like to fully implement the transfer system along with adding more conditions and cases that will affective your ethic score.
