Inspiration

Uniswap is blacklisting Ethereum addresses that have a Russian IP address and Metamask is doing the same as well but Private Smart Contracts on DERO solve this censorship conundrum.

We are looking to bring an element of privacy not possible on Ethereum and other public blockchains, i.e., Private Smart Contracts.

What it does

This Ethereum-DERO bridge allows Ethereum users to use their assets on Ethereum with the DERO platform as a completely permissionless platform.

How we built it

It is built with React & Javascript and we plan to add price feeds using Chainlink oracles but DERO is coded in golang. We have a WEB3 front-end with storage on Filecoin / IPFS via CryptoEscondido.crypto. We also used Sphereon.network for a decentralized UI. We also integrated WalletConnect to make it mobile friendly.

Challenges we ran into

We were short on time but there is already an Ethereum-DERO bridge on the Dero testnet and we plan to use that as a model to get higher on the learning curve. We are still in the process of deploying to DERO mainnet.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that we are aiming to be the second DAPP on DERO Mainnet.

What we learned

I learned one can use almost any programming language via websockets with the DERO network, which really open the blockchain to developers beyond the cryptocurrency world.

What's next for Ethereum-DERO Bridge

We are in the process of enhancing the UI and deploying on Mainnet after an audit.
