Inspiration
We were surprised by how little the healthcare industry is involved in Web3, so we wanted to try connecting the two fields together! We believe that Web3 is more likely to gain wider acceptance if stable fields like healthcare get involved.
What it does
ETHealth is a platform that enables healthcare providers and users to make instant transactions in both Ethereum and cash. Users have the option to pay in both cash and cryptocurrency, and healthcare providers have the option to get paid in cash or cryptocurrency. Think of it as Stripe for healthcare, on blockchain.
How we built it
We built it using Solidity and React.
Challenges we ran into
As absolute beginners to Web3 and React, building this app was definitely a challenge. But with a determination to learn blockchain, we were able to finish making a project we were proud of.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the fact we were able to build a deploy an Ethereum-based smart contract app in under 36 hours!
What we learned
We learned many new ideas concepts involving Web3, and the resources necessary to build a Web3 app.
What's next for ETHealth
ETHealth has the potential to develop as a startup business, with real-world implications as we provide more payment flexibility. Business models like subscriptions for healthcare providers and users or cryptocurrency trading are viable with ETHealth. Our app opens all the aspects of the healthcare industry - from seamless transactions the moment a telehealth session ends to real-time doctor-to-patient interactions. Healthcare bills are also a private matter - who pays it should not be a big matter. The option to pay in cryptocurrency provides that layer of anonymity to potential users that want to pay bills through our service.
