Inspiration
Uncle Ram offered me a ride from Kushma to Kathmandu, and that's when I realized the need for shared journeys. Riding alone is monotonous; we can chat, and enjoy the sights together.
What it does
Eternity Ride is a long-distance ride-sharing app that connects travelers and finds travel companions.
How we built it
We built it using Android Studio, Kotlin, and Firebase.
Challenges we ran into
Implementing Firebase authentication was challenging, with various errors and debugging. Creating an intuitive UI was also a struggle, and implementing chat features was difficult.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of building an app that addresses a pressing need in our country. Solving issues and learning Kotlin for Android development are major achievements.
What we learned
We learned Android programming in Kotlin, Firebase Realtime Database, Firebase Auth using Google, and more.
What's next for Eternity Ride
Our next steps include implementing a fully functional chat feature, launching on the Play Store, marketing, and making enhancements based on user feedback.
