Inspiration
Our inspiration for EternAI comes from the personal experience of losing a close friend, and realizing that many others have faced similar losses. People often wish they could see or talk to their loved ones again after they’ve passed, which sparked the idea of creating a platform that could bring this possibility to life using AI.
What it does
EternAI offers a multi-faceted experience that connects users with digital avatars of their deceased loved ones, creating a sense of continued presence and connection. Here’s how it works:
Remembrance: The first page where users can upload memories, photos, voice samples, and personal data, preserving the essence of their loved ones in a meaningful, loving way.
Presence: This page allows users to interact with the digital avatar, converse with them, and even generate AI-based experiences or places to visit together.
Serenity: A peaceful gallery where users can view their digital avatar in a tranquil environment, showcasing moments from the past or actions being carried out in the digital world.
Legends: Celebrity avatars, published by their families, where fans can engage with and follow their idols' digital presence, continuing to be inspired by them.
How we built it
We used the following technologies and tools to build EternAI:
Next.js for web development
Eleven Labs for voice cloning
Gemini VEO 3.1 for video generation
Nano Banana Pro for image generation
Claude AI for creating intelligent conversations
Cursor IDE for coding
Heygen for creating digital avatars (limited access due to subscription)
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was generating the digital avatars and syncing them with the voice, as it required using multiple tools, and we didn’t have access to premium subscriptions for some services like Heygen. Combining these elements seamlessly was tricky, but we were able to make it work with creative problem-solving.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We completed the full flow in less than 24 hours, which included designing an intuitive user interface and smooth user experience.
Successfully brought together multiple technologies to create a working prototype that allows users to interact with digital avatars in meaningful ways.
What we learned
We learned that technology can truly help people preserve memories, interact with loved ones, and even heal regrets. It showed us the power of AI to turn emotional experiences into something tangible and meaningful.
What's next for EternAI
Marketing: We plan to start promoting EternAI on Twitter and begin selling the service.
Collaborations: We are looking to collaborate with companies like Nirvana, who are using AI to help people create digital farewells for funerals.
Expansion: We also see the potential in creating digital avatars of celebrities, where fans can interact with their idols in a similar way, turning this into a pay-per-use model for those who wish to reconnect with their favorite personalities.
