Military Veterans Need Help Finding Benefits

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has thousands of pages of benefits information making it challenging to find specific benefits information.

What it does

http://helpwithva.com/lex/ makes it easier to find benefits information available to U.S. military Veterans.

How I built it

Lex, Lambda, and Node.js were used to create the chatbot that will run on any HTML 5 browser.

Challenges I ran into

Creating a cross browser support bot was the biggest challenge.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud that the bot is voice enabled and works on any platform with a modern web browser that supports HTML 5.

What I learned

It was cool to learn how to Amazon Lex compares with IBM's Watson.

What's next for etastic

etastic will continue to enhance the bot for the benefit of Veterans.
