Inspiration for EssayEase Me and my team are all high school students. Hence, we believe that an website that increased our chances of being accepted into our dream colleges/universities would be of benefit. Although students may be confident in their academic ability to get admission, it would be favorable to ensure that the essay is to the college/university liking.
What it does EssayEase is an AI Assistant that reads students essays and helps the student tailor their essay to their desired college/university standards.
How we built it The platform used to build the website was Pycharm with JarvisAI as the open AI tool.
Challenges we ran into Me and my time did not have much coding experience to begin with. Consequently, starting to build an tailoring AI Assistant from scratch was tricky. To add on, one of the members from our team had technical limitations due to coding on a Chromebook; it was not compatible with several things needed to develop the program.
Accomplishments that we are proud of We are proud that we were able to build a function AI Assistant within 24 hours with minimal coding experience.
What we learned We learned how to troubleshoot issues in coding platforms. Such as finding missing python packages in Visual Studio Code, improved our collaboration skills for coding projects, how to use Figma and how to design websites.
What's next for EssayEase The next step for EssayEase in the upcoming future is to have a generative functionality that would give students examples on how to write their college essay.
