Better and more Accessible Education LMS for all School Types and Sizes in the Philippines

I have developed a modern and simple LMS using Bolt, ChatGPT, and Gemini that aims to provide better quality, access, customizability, and service compared to existing LMS today. The goal is to be beneficial from small to large schools whether public or private providing services all online. The inspiration for the title is "eskwela" which means "school" in Filipino/Tagalog. I was also inspired and motivated to create this LMS as I have experience on using various LMS and our family owns and runs a Christian private school offering services and education from Nursery to Senior High School.

Improving Quality Education LMS made with AI

With the use of AI, I was able to create this LMS very quickly and robustly. The goal is to create an LMS that is powered with AI to improve the quality of service and education aimed to support adminstrator accounting functionalities and reduce workload for Teachers by introducing insights, metrics, and trends along with AI tools to help automate manual tasks for both roles. These features will be included on future updates and improvements.

AI-built LMS using Bolt, ChatGPT, Gemini, Supabase and GitHub

The LMS was built using Bolt during the hackathon along with ChatGPT and Gemini for debugging, improvements, and suggestions, Supabase for database functionalities using Postgre and saving the source code on GitHub to showcase on my profile and support the open-sourced community.

Database Authentication issues and Feature Improvements

Database formatting, authentication, and policies made it difficult to develop the system and progress with a constant speed. Adding features also contributed to making the system more complex as each new feature changes the system's code structure and complexity.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I have made a working proof of concept that has built-in backend solutions along with database functionalities, front-end solutions, and to remember that it is all hosted and deployed online. With the use of AI, this was made possible. I was able to develop from end to end and deploy it at the same time using Netlify so the world can see.

What we learned

I have learned to prompt engineer better, introduced to new languages such as TypeScript, React, Tailwind, and Postgre SQL. With this knowledge, it will be easier to learn and master these languages/frameworks to be used on the corporate world. Low/No Code platforms will become and is already a hit because of this and for sure it will be used by companies in the near future.

What's next for eSkwelAI-LMS

The use of AI-LLM models for development of trends, metrics, and insights to help administrators and teachers improve the service of the school along with reducing workload and boosting efficiency in all scope and sectors. The use of APIs to integrate email/sms system, qr generation, and integrate payment options along with a better plan for supabase for autoscaling functionalities and chance to migrate to a cloud solution in the future. Security purposes and practices are also needed and desired for this website to be able to withstand and be on guard against online cyber threats.

Apart from that, if I get the right momentum, traction, sponsorhips, recognition, in these early days, I might be able to deploy it as a micro SaaS and start on giving high quality education services to my fellow Filipinos. I believe that education is important and our goal is to make more Filipinos smarter.
