Inspiration

I’ve always been inspired by companies driving sustainability through innovation. ESGenius was born from a desire to merge finance and technology in a way that supports a more ethical, equitable future—leveraging AI to make ESG investing more personalized and impactful

What it does

ESGenius is a conceptual AI-powered platform that showcases how individuals and institutions can build personalized ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) portfolios. The prototype simulates how AI can analyze investment data, apply ESG metrics, and suggest aligned portfolios—empowering users to grow their wealth while supporting social and environmental good.

How we built it

We built ESGenius primarily using Bolt.new for front-end scaffolding and rapid prototyping. The stack also includes React, Tailwind CSS, OpenAI API for intelligent personalization, and Netlify for live deployment.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was simulating personalized, dynamic ESG data and presenting it clearly to users without access to real-time datasets. Designing an intuitive flow that communicates value even in demo form pushed us to think like both designers and data strategists.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built a fully responsive and visually engaging MVP under intense time constraints

Developed a compelling narrative and UX flow that bridges ESG literacy with AI usability

Created an institutional pitch model that aligns with standards at firms like BlackRock and JPMorgan.

What we learned

We gained valuable insights into structuring AI-powered decision flows, crafting fintech user experiences, and translating abstract ESG principles into understandable, actionable tools for users.
