Inspiration
Everywhere you look, companies are being pushed to be more transparent about their environmental and social impact. But the problem is, a lot of ESG reporting isn't as trustworthy as it should be. I wanted to work on something that could help make sustainability data more reliable and accessible. Many companies claim to be "eco-friendly" or "socially responsible," but in reality, there’s little proof behind those claims. This project is a way to address that issue by ensuring ESG ratings are based on real, verified data, rather than just marketing.
What it does
Our project helps customers choose stocks based on the ESG metrics and provides a brief summary of the company so that they can make that crucial choice.
How we built it
The tech stack we used in our project includes Node.js, Express.js, React.js, MongoDB,GenAI
Challenges we ran into
Initially after starting with the project, we had started with a different tech stack which kept getting failed due to infrastructure issues.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our team as a whole were able to complete and deliver a very meaningful applications that makes an impact on the society.
What we learned
We learnt that patience is the key while while working on an idea and developing it all the way from scratch. We got a chance to go through a lot of research work in the similar sector and understood how the implementations were done there.
What's next for ESG Folio
Our next goal for ESG Folio is introduce a native trading platform where only companies with a minimum threshold of ESG value would be listed.
