Inspiration
People are exposed to dangerous levels of sound that can lead to permanent ear damage. Having a device that could alert them in case their surroundings are too loud will let them know to use some form of ear protection and protect their hearing.
These can include construction workers who work in loud surroundings, frequent concert goers, and people who work in generally loud environments.
What it does
EarSaver alerts the user if they should wear ear protection by carefully sensing for sound while mitigating outside noise such as movement and device orientation.
