Educational Support Ecosystem

Inspiration

The birth of ESE came as our team tried to overcome the limitations and hurdles found in our own experiences and observations with the current education system.

What it does

ESE is a project designed to combat disparities in our education system, both online and in-person. It provides students a way to find relevant information by typing in questions to a flask interface. Further, it provides students with anxiety a way to get things they need in class like getting help, clarifications, and going to the bathroom.

How we built it

The ESE had a web-side component, ran by a flask interface powered by GPT

Challenges we ran into

During the development of the ESE, our team learn many valuable lessons which helped to expand our team's technical experitse given tight time restrictions as well as interacting with the new technonlogies avaliable today.

Our main issue throughout our time aside from debugging came from refining our target audience and the main impacted target group.

There are many groups whom are marginalised in the education system and face their own unique challenges in navatating the current system which caused a constant iteration of the project specifications.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of developing a tool which at the very least will spark the minds of any who are reading this post to critically anylise the needs of different learners placed in a system which acts to generalize and assimilate students rather than encourage and support the individuals of the next generation.

What we learned

We learned to be more mindful of the ableist systems and glass ceilings bounding our education system.
