How We Built It?
The arm is actuated using servo motors, each dedicated to an individual finger for independent movement. Fishing line acts as tendon-like connectors, pulling the fingers closed when the motors rotate via a pulley system. Control is achieved through an EMG (electromyography) sensor, which detects myoelectric signals from muscle activity. When muscle activation crosses a certain threshold, the sensor triggers the servo motors to engage, causing the hand to close.
