  Decentralized E-commerce using NEAR blockchain

Inspiration

Our project draws inspiration from the real-life challenges of trust issues, lack of transparency, and unfair practices that persist in traditional centralized e-commerce platforms. We've witnessed the frustrations caused by fake reviews, counterfeit products, and hidden practices that undermine the trust between buyers and sellers. This has fueled our determination to create a better solution an e-commerce platform where trust is restored, transparency is valued, and fairness is upheld in every transaction. We're driven by the belief that by leveraging the power of blockchain technology and implementing robust verification mechanisms, we can reshape the e-commerce landscape for the better. Our vision is to foster an ecosystem where buyers can make confident choices, sellers can build genuine connections with their customers, and where fairness and integrity guide every interaction. What it does

Our project is all about transforming the world of e-commerce. It's a game-changer that puts transparency, trust, and fairness front and center. What makes us truly unique is our unwavering commitment to ensuring that every product on our platform is authentic and verified. Say goodbye to worries about counterfeit items or shady practices. We've built a user-friendly interface that lets you explore a wide array of verified products, giving you the confidence to make informed purchasing decisions. And we haven't forgotten about the sellers either. We provide them with direct access to a global customer base, opening up new avenues for growth and personal connections. Plus, we've implemented smart contracts to ensure secure and hassle-free payments, protecting both buyers and sellers. Our vision is to create a trustworthy and inclusive e-commerce community that puts people first, empowering businesses and delivering an exceptional user experience.

How we built it

The front-end is built using Next.js with the help of tailwind for styling, while the backend uses TypeScript and Node.js. We also use the NEAR for the smart contracts.

Challenges we ran into

Our project faced some initial setbacks that caused a delay in getting started. Unfortunately, there were factors beyond our control that contributed to this. Additionally, we encountered a challenge with our UI/UX Designer, who had limited experience in front-end development. This made it difficult to create a detailed and polished user interface within the given timeframe, especially as our other teammate was primarily focused on the backend. To make matters more challenging, we struggled with the lack of documentation for the NEAR library, which made it harder to fully leverage its capabilities.
