Escape the Arcade was born from a dream I carried since I was young. Growing up, I heard a lot of people tell me what I couldn’t do — that my ideas were too big, too unrealistic, or too difficult to ever become real. Those words stayed with me, but not in the way they expected. Instead of stopping me, they pushed me. They inspired me to prove that no dream is too wild if you’re willing to chase it. That’s why I created this world: to inspire others to keep going, no matter what people say. I want Escape the Arcade to be a reminder that goals are worth fighting for, and that imagination is powerful.
Another reason I built this world is because I wanted a place where anyone — any age, any background — could step away from reality for a moment. A space to relax, have fun, laugh, and be completely themselves. In VR, especially in Horizon Worlds, we can build places that don’t exist anywhere else, and that freedom is something I wanted to share. Escape the Arcade is meant to feel like jumping into nostalgia, color, energy, and pure play.
Building this world in Meta Horizon Worlds was both exciting and challenging. I had to learn tools, scripts, physics, optimization, and how to bring each arcade machine and neon detail to life. There were moments when things broke, glitched, or didn’t perform the way I imagined. There were days I questioned if I could finish it at all. But every challenge reminded me why I started — to prove to myself, and to anyone who visits, that giving up is never the answer.
